LifeStyle Aviation announced it has delivered the first Diamond DA62 aircraft with the all new Garmin G1000 NXi flight deck to the US market. The Diamond DA62 NXi is an all new modern 7 place “SUV of the Skies” featuring twin Jet-Fuel burning piston engines, all carbon fiber construction and now the latest major advancements from Garmin with the new G1000 NXi flight deck.

G1000 NXi Introduction
In 2004, the Diamond DA40 was the launch platform for the all new Garmin G1000 flight deck. The G1000 was a “clean sheet design” with the goal of being the ultimate 21st-century avionics suite.
Indeed the G1000 became the standard and all of the modern general aviation aircraft manufacturers standardized on this innovative platform. Garmin added the digital autopilot in 2007, WAAS and SVT in 2008 and ESP in later years. The all new G1000 NXi was introduced in early 2017 (see announcement) and represents the next generation of this popular flight deck. The previous G1000 panel has been discontinued and all OEM’s will be moving to this next level panel over time.
NXi Next Generation Performance
Significant performance enhancements provide faster start-up and rendering. This results in a dramatically improved user experience which saves valuable time in the cockpit. The displays initialize within seconds after start-up, providing immediate access to frequencies, flight plan data and more.
Smooth panning and fast animations make it more intuitive and enjoyable to use while brighter screens make use in any light levels and by pilots with varying levels of vision even easier.
Modern Design
The G1000 NXi system also incorporates contemporary animations, modernized design for improved readability and new LED backlighting, offering increased display brightness and clarity, reduced power consumption, as well as improved dimming performance.
The new Simplified Database Updates means pilots only have to deal with one data card and new wireless options can be considered with the optional FlightStream. Aircraft maintenance personnel also enjoy faster system software upgrades and streamlined equipment replacement.

The new Map Overlay on the HSI provides a wealth of additional information on the Primary Flight Display, reducing a pilot’s instrument scan and making IFR flight safer and more comfortable.
The all new Vertical Profile View provides unprecedented safety and convenience for all phases of flight.
The Radio Frequency Identification feature provides confirmation at a glance that the correct frequency is selected, enhancing convenience and usability.
Fully Coupled Missed Approaches now means the GFC700 autopilot can execute the entire approach and missed approach sequence providing an unprecedented level of confidence and comfort in low IFR conditions.
Enhanced Safety
The Electronic Stability Protection (ESP) works even while the autopilot is turned off providing an envelope of protection so in the case of an unexpected in-flight upset the aircraft will keep the aircraft in control dramatically enhancing overall safety and comfort of pilots and passengers.
G1000 NXi equipped aircraft are ADS-B compliant and support the display of various ADS-B In benefits, including traffic and subscription-free weather.
Exclusive traffic features such as Garmin’s patented TargetTrend and TerminalTraffic further enhance the traffic picture. TargetTrend provides pilots with a more intuitive method of judging target trajectories and closure rates, while TerminalTraffic displays a comprehensive picture of ADS-B-equipped aircraft and ground vehicles.
Additionally, pilots can now preview departure and arrival procedures on the MFD prior to loading and activating the procedures.
